
New York's legislature and governor enacted AB 1248/SB 854 on March 31, 2021. New Jersey's governor signed enacting legislation on March 1, 2021. The South Dakota Supreme Court upheld this decision on Novemby a vote of 4-1. On Feb. 8, 2021, South Dakota Circuit Judge Christina Klinger ruled that the measure was unconstitutional. Voters in Arizona, Montana, New Jersey and South Dakota approved measures to regulate cannabis for non medical use. NON MEDICAL/ADULT-USE UPDATE: As of May 27, 2022, 19 states, two territories and the District of Columbia have enacted measures to regulate cannabis for adult non medical use. The legislature passed new legislation which was signed by the governor Feb. In November 2020, voters in Mississippi passed a ballot initiative to allow for medical use, but it was overturned by the state supreme court on May 14, 2021. MEDICAL-USE UPDATE: As of February 3, 2022, 37 states, three territories and the District of Columbia allow the medical use of cannabis products.
